Hello two people that read my emails #thanksmomanddad

Well, this was quite the week. We have received a whole lot of opposition to from people on campus this week, it makes me pretty sad. But that also means that there is someone just around the corner that we need to find and teach. It just builds my testimony that because of this opposition that we are receiving, Satan is doing his very best to stop the work, especially in KSU! I just continue to pray that we will receive the very elect and we will continue to be diligent in the work.

But we have also played a whole lot of Frisbee and Spikeball on the Green so that is never a bad time!

I would just invite everybody to take a question to General Conference this week and seek an answer through it! I have a testimony that we can receive the answers through the speakers as they are directed by the Spirit or we can receive directly from the Lord!!

Love yall,
Elder Northrup

Establishing Trust

Elders Kohler, Covey, Dunn, Garret, Northrup, Tu'itavake
Sisters Blake, Mix, Tigno, Andoh, Call

It's been a good week as always! We've had some pretty cool miracles happen with people so that's always exciting!!

On Tuesday we had our Branch President, Randy Bristol, give a training about establishing relationships of trust with the individuals that we meet and interact with. It was a much needed training because I felt like I was focusing too much on not wasting time with people that aren't ready that I didn't realize that I could still help them.

So on Wednesday we had two killer lessons with some peeps! The first was with a girl named Mariah. Our first interaction with her consisted of us talking about the Pre-Earth Life and her talking about how she would like to believe in Reincarnation because it would be pretty cool to be an animal. So when we finally had the sit down lesson we didn't think it was actually going to be any good, but it was stellar. We took about a half an hour to establish that relationship of trust and took just a few minutes to teach her the single principle of the Pre-Earth Life. She said that she hasn't been to Church in 4 years but would like to give it a shot this or next Sunday again! Super cool girl!

The next lesson was with a guy named Chase! We met him last week as we were walking and just barely talked about what we did as missionaries and a bit about the Book of Mormon. When we met with him we asked why he had the desire to sit down with us. He ended up telling this long story which basically placed us in the path in front of him and he didn't think it was a coincidence. We taught him very briefly what we did and how it could affect him, so he wants to come to Church as well!

But we have seen so many miracles this week, all because the Lord is being very merciful to us! I am so grateful that we are able to teach some incredible people!! But one of the best miracles came yesterday when I got a message from Mason Duffie! We chatted a bit over messenger before he told me that he is back on the strait and narrow! I immediately gave him a call so we could talk about it. He basically said the same thing as before, that there was something missing in his life and he knew it was the Gospel. He told me that he needed to stop being flaky with everything and hold onto what he already knew. His wife Catrina on the other hand is still in a bad spot at the moment! She is having a hard time believing everything still so I invited them to come to a baptism in a week over at the Church by the Temple so I could talk in person to the both of them! Hopefully they will be down for it!!

Anywho, lots of fun stuff happening here at KSU! We are seeing tons of miracles thanks to the Lord, we are trying our best as His instruments here!!

New Comp, New Transfer

Well brethren and sistren, it is official. I am training a new missionary again! This one is the easiest by far to train! His name is Elder Tu'itavake from Oregon! His parents are actually from Tonga! His is probably the chillest guy I've been comps with, really humble and genuine!!

It is weird not having Elder Jackson here anymore because he is super ecstatic all the time! I feel like he was always laughing! Elder 'T' is pretty quiet but it is a cool change!!

We've met some really cool people this week all because of the Lord! I would go into detail about each person but it would take a long time, and almost all the stories are the same since we are finding the same way everyday! But some of the names yall can pray for are...

-Christian Tiomo
-Anderson
-Chase Coleman
-Marriah
-Zsavon
-Habib
-Ode

I just thank the Lord for providing people for us to teach day to day! We've been struggling week to week over this last transfer to try to find the elect and I feel good about this upcoming week! The one bad thing about working on College Campus' for a long time is you start to see people as just numbers, and when that happens we start to see fewer miracles. I was just ask for prayers from all yall to help me to see people as Children of God and not just a part of the statistical rendering report for the end of the week! I have a testimony of the power of prayer and I know that the Lord can help me through anything because of His Grace, the enabling power of His Atonement!!

Love yall,

p.s. MY COUSIN IS IN THE MISSION!!!!!!!! I'VE BEEN ABLE TO SEE HER A TON SINCE SHE HAS BEEN HERE!!!!!!!!!!!

It's been a good transfer in KSU

Add caption

Well, its official. In about 4 days will hit my first transfer done here in KSU! It feels weird that its been that fast already!!

I have seen a lot of blessings being here, and I know that a lot of the people that I've met were people that I was supposed to come in contact with! Many of the young people that we are teaching are Athiest/Agnostic, and it is so cool to see them progressing in their belief about God. The Plan of Salvation has meant something to me more in this part of my life than ever before, and I know my gratitude for that knowledge will just increase as time progresses.

So ya, thats my week. Crossing my fingers that Sister Cockrell will be transferred into the district or somewhere nearby!! WHOOT!!

Things are picking up speed...

We basically do the same thing everyday. Our schedule is very made up for us everyday so it seems like weeks are going by very fast.

We had quite a few miracles happen this week. We have quite a few people that want to come to Church this coming Sunday and we are super excited to see where these people progress. I have really come to appreciate more fully the Plan of Happiness and the knowledge that I have of it. It is such a blessing to see others coming to the same understanding and appreciation. Truly, Missions are very very eye opening!!
